We look forward to serving our customers from Salem, VA! | Founded in 1802, Salem, VA was originally named The Town of Salem in the County of Botetourt before officially having its name changed in 1968. Salem experienced a rapid population growth in 1852, due to the construction of the Virginia and Tennessee Railroad. It was that same railroad, however, that made Salem a target in the Civil War. After suffering two Union attacks, the railroad depot was destroyed by General William Averell because of the large amounts of military stores and food supplies it held. Today, Salem has built up a reputation as being a sports town, as it has brought dozens of collegiate, championships and amateur tournaments to the community. The city has remained a wonderful place to live and prides itself on its old-fashioned community with big city opportunities.
