Avalanche® does look like fun, but it's built for hard work, too. It offers plenty of hauling power, and the addition of the Heavy-Duty Trailering Package provides even more trailering capabilities – more than enough for towing big items such as a boat. The Heavy-Duty Trailering Package includes the following:<ul> <li>3.42 rear axle ratio</li> <li>External transmission oil cooler</li> <li>Engine oil cooler</li></ul>It also includes a 2-speed active transfer case on 4WD models.On LS and LT models, requires the available Texas Edition and All-Star Edition.

Avid 4WD users typically need both a lot of traction and a lower range of gears for climbing steep hills and doing serious pulling. Working closely with the drivetrain and wheels, the active Autotrac® transfer case will send more power to the front or rear axle automatically, depending on the driving conditions. This 2-speed transfer case also offers a lower gear range, ideal for the most demanding off-road requirements, and its rotary controls include a neutral setting for dinghy towing.It requires 4WD models and available Heavy-Duty Trailering Package. On LT models, it is required with the available Z71® Off-Road Suspension Package.

Bluetooth®1 for select phones helps you stay in touch at all times, safely and effectively. Bluetooth capability lets you connect your wireless phone or PDA to your Avalanche® hands-free calling system, allowing you to maintain complete driver control when making or receiving a call. A front license plate provision for your Avalanche® is available for those states or services requiring it. It will be forced on orders with ship-to states that require a front license plate.

A rear 60/40 split-bench seat accommodates three passengers comfortably and includes 2 sets of lower anchors and 3 top tethers to accommodate child seats. Plus, quickly, easily and almost like magic, it flips, folds and merges with the Midgate® upright to convert the Avalanche® from a cozy SUV to a working pickup.

As the temperature rises outside, dual-zone automatic air conditioning works to help keep all front passengers cool inside Avalanche®. It features two sets of climate controls, allowing the driver and front passenger to dial in their own temperature preferences as conditions change to provide greater comfort and control of their environment. When bucket seats are ordered, you'll have additional air conditioning outlets in the center console.

For additional storage for valuables and smaller items, the center floor console makes the perfect traveling companion. It also boasts two strategically placed dual cup holders which offer additional convenience for both the driver and front passenger. Integrated second row audio controls let you give entertainment control to the back seat. Featuring wood grain covered forward storage on LTZ models.

No matter what your height is, you never need to stretch for the brake or throttle again or drive with your knees bumping the bottom of the steering wheel, thanks to these power-adjustable pedals. An easy-to-operate switch just below the climate controls extends or retracts the brake and accelerator, so your Avalanche® adjusts to fit your body type and preferred driving position to a tee. On LS, this feature requires the available Convenience Package.

Park with added confidence in your Avalanche® thanks to Ultrasonic® Rear Parking Assist. While the vehicle is in Reverse, specially mounted sensors in the rear bumper emit audible warning tones, alerting you to potential hazards behind you while traveling in Reverse at low speeds. As you move closer to the obstacle, the tones sound closer together. On LS models, requires available Convenience Package.

Pick your source and play with this AM/FM radio with CD player and MP3 playback. The included USB port1 connects to your MP3 player. The AM/FM stereo includes 36 cross-band presets, seek-and-scan, digital clock, auto-tone control, automatic volume and Radio Data System® (RDS).2 It comes with TheftLock®3 for added security. The standard Vortec® 5.3L V8 engine with Sequential Fuel Injection (SFI) pulls 320 hp from its aluminum block, along with 335 lb-ft of torque. It also comes with Active Fuel Management® – the ability to deactivate four of the eight cylinders to conserve fuel, then seamlessly bring them back when conditions demand to give you the power you need – as well as E85 FlexFuel capability.1 Running on FlexFuel, a combination of 85% ethanol and 15% gasoline, the Vortec engine delivers even more power: 326 hp with 348 lb-ft of torque. Rear seat occupants have control of their listening environment with this feature that includes two rear headphone jacks (headphones not included), a power outlet and controls for volume, station selection and additional media. StabiliTrak® Electronic Stability Control System with Traction Control, electronic trailer sway control and hill start assist helps keep you on the road and in control. The StabiliTrak control module compares your steering input with the vehicle's response and, if necessary, makes small, individual brake applications to keep you on track. The system automatically intervenes when it senses understeer (plowing), oversteer (fishtailing) or loss of lateral traction. In these situations, the system applies brake pressure and, if necessary, adjusts engine torque to help you get the vehicle back on track.

Take quick weather changes in stride. Avalanche® LTZ models come standard with 20 all-season, blackwall tires1. The 2012 Avalanche® offers an all-encompassing approach to safety. Inflatable head curtain air bags1 deploy inside the vehicle in a crash on the side of the vehicle that is struck. They're designed to help reduce the risk of head and neck injuries to front and rear seat outboard occupants in certain side-impact collisions. On Avalanche, these air bags feature a rollover sensor. 1 Always use safety belts and the child restraints. Children are safer when properly secured in a rear seat in the appropriate child restraint. The rich, leather-appointed heated front bucket seats are a welcome feature on cool days. The controls are located conveniently on each door and allow the driver and front passenger to warm either the seat's cushion and seatback or just its seatback. On cold days, the remote start system also can be used to turn on the feature and heat the seats to a comfortable level before you enter the vehicle.

Trailering equipment adds even more versatility to your Chevy™ Avalanche®. It includes a trailer hitch with a 7-wire harness with independent fused trailering circuits mated to a 7-way sealed connecter to quickly and easily connect signal or brake lights. I bought this truck with only 21,000 miles on it by it's previousowner. It's 2022 and I just turned 101,000 miles. I take care of my vehicles and drive them until the tires fall off. This vehicle has proved it's value with very little service other than general maintenance. With the michelin tires it drives like a Cadillac. The fuel management, switching from V8 to V4 on trips saves a great deal on gas. I've even had offers from dealerships to purchase the vehicle but I wouldn't buy a new vehicle made of nothing but chips even if you gave it to me.…

I love the look of the Chevy Avalanche and it's ability to put the back seat down to make the bed longer. However this trucks transmission and pulling ability is terrible. Had to replace mine at 121k miles.…
